Sandcastles – classes for children of divorce

Did you know that based on current statistics over 1,000,000 couples will divorce by the end of this year and over 1,000,000 children will be affected? Many of those children are also expected to encounter numerous divorce-related problems, some, well into their adult years. Many of those children will receive no help to address the challenges that they are expected to face following their parents’ divorce. Still, studies show that programs such as Sandcastles can be tremendously helpful in assisting many children whose parents divorce. Sandcastles is an educational program and support group that was developed by Psychotherapist M. Gary Neuman of Miami Beach, Florida, and it was designed specifically for children of divorce, ages 6-17 Years. Sandcastlescurrently operates as a mandatory program in over a dozen cities in the United States including Miami-Dade County. It also operates as a voluntary program in numerous other areas of the United States and around the world. Over 100,000 children have successfully completed the program in the United States.

The Sandcastles program has been featured in People Magazine, Time Magazine, Parenting Magazine & Parents Magazine. It has also been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, CBS Weekend News, Talk of the Nation, CNN, National Public Radio, The View & Dateline NBC. Through this 3-hour program, children learn valuable adjustment skills, which help make divorce less painful. They will also learn:

*How to cope more effectively
